Paper craft: Research

Out of all the articles from the list my attention was drawn to "Wet Fold Origami Technique Gives Wavy Personality to Paper Animals by Artist Hoang Tien Quyet". This article talked about a different approach to origami which I find interesting. The wet fold technique allows origami to have curved lines instead of the straight edges that usually appears on folded  paper.

The  artist Tien Quyet uses the wet-folding technique to create paper craft animals, and is quite successful as this technique gives the animals a more organic and rounded appearance. Quyet's paper animals are more lively and realist whereas paper animals folded in an ordinary way would appear to be rigid and stiff.

In relation to paper craft assignment

Even though the process of our paper craft assignment is completely different, I am still inspired by how curved lines can enhance the appearance of an object. For this assignment I want to incorporate the idea of giving my 3D model a more rounded outline with multiple small segments of straight lines.
